Students can summarize the structure of attributive clauses and know how to join the pairs of sentences using attributive clauses.

②Ability Objectives

Students’ comprehensive language ability can be improved through a wide range of activities.

Through group work, students can learn how to cooperate with others.

Students’ interests of learning English can be improved.

Students can become interested in learning grammar and realize the importance of obeying the rule.

(3)教學過程及設計意圖

Step 1 Lead in

The teacher leads students to read the passage again and underline all the sentences with attributive clauses. After doing that, students should share their opinions with others.

The attributive clauses may:

①This gift was the Amber Room, which was given this name because several tons of amber were used to make it.

②The amber which was selected had a beautiful yellow-brown color like honey.

③Later. Catherine II had the Amber Room moved to a palace outside St Petersburg where she spent her summers.

【設計意圖】通過再次閱讀課文，學生可以回顧課文，同時發(fā)現(xiàn)文中的定語從句。這樣可以為學生明確目標語法點，同時增進學生小組合作能力，激發(fā)學習興趣。
